The world knows it as the home of Cervantes, El Prado, and late night tapas in street cafés.
We know it as the home of our Saint Louis University Madrid Campus.
And our former students know our campus as the ideal place to study Spanish language and literature courses and earn graduate credits from an American Jesuit university with over 35 years of experience in Spain.
b) Here’s how it works:
You must first obtain admission into the Graduate School of Saint Louis University in St. Louis, MO.
Then, as one of your options, you may complete your M.A. by enrolling in intensive six-week summer sessions at our branch campus in Madrid for three consecutive years.
Or you can mix a summer or two in Madrid with regular semester coursework here in Madrid or at our home campus in St. Louis.
If you choose to spend three summers in Madrid, each summer you take two six-week M.A. courses, each worth three credits, and two five-week Cursos de Perfeccionamiento or optional M.A. courses, each worth two credits.
Throughout your program, an authorized full-time faculty member will serve as your advisor to make sure you stay on track toward graduation.
During your last session, you will take the final written and oral exams.
c) Cursos de Pefeccionamiento:
Designed for secondary school teachers of Spanish, our five-week in-service language and literature program allows you to earn from two to eight credits by taking from one to four enrichment courses.
You’ll improve your oral and written communication skills and broaden your knowledge of Spanish literature and culture as you study with our Ph.D. faculty, all of whom are native Spaniards.
And as part of each course your professor will introduce you to uniquely Spanish cultural offerings around Madrid that you’ll be remembering with your students and professional friends for years to come.
